Homeowners Insurance

For most people their home is their largest asset. That’s why it is so important to make sure you have homeowners insurance through a company you can count on to be there when you need it. Count on Farmers Fire to provide your family with the protection they need and peace of mind you desire.

Farmers Fire’s Homeowners Insurance program offers coverage for a broad range of perils, including damage from fire, wind, hail, lightning, theft, vandalism, and many other possible causes of loss. The homeowners program provides coverage under six categories to make sure that you’re protected for a wide range of possible losses.

The following are basic explanations of the six broad categories of coverage provided under the Homeowners Program through Farmers Fire Insurance Company.

  1. The Dwelling

This coverage is extended directly to your home and would be the coverage under which payments would be made to repair your home in the event of a covered loss.

  2. Other Structures

This coverage extends the coverage for your home to other buildings located on your property. For most people this might be a detached garage or a shed, but it could also include buildings like a gazebo or barn.

  3. Personal Property

This coverage extends to all of your personal belongings. The coverage applies regardless of where your belongings are whether they’re in your car, with you on vacation, or with your child at their college dorm room.

  4. Loss of Use

In the event that you do have a covered loss, this coverage provides payments for the additional costs you might incur as a result of that loss. Examples of how this coverage might apply are payments for a temporary place to stay if your home becomes unlivable or payments to cover the increased cost of eating out or ordering take out if your kitchen becomes unusable.

  5. Personal Liability

In the event that you become personally liable for property damage or bodily injury to another person this coverage would be used to protect you. Also included in this liability coverage are payments to cover the cost of an attorney in the event that a lawsuit is filed against you.

  6. Medical Payments to Others

In the event that someone is hurt while on your property, this coverage helps to pay for their medical expenses, regardless of who is at fault.
